where to start with this one…

i’ve been pondering over the right words to put down to try and explain how this past year has been; taking an idea and turning into a reality is tough to summarize- as i’m sure you can imagine! starting up J9 was the second best thing to happen to me, ahead of it is all of you, the ones that have supported it, talked about it, bought into it, trusted the methods. i remember saying to some friends half heartedly one day on a walk “imagine being this close to work (about 100 steps) and getting to be on this field, every day, doing something new.” something i love spending my time doing; playing footy and teaching. so many of you were patient with me through my injury and have surely been a staple in my return to the field. as i’ve spent the last 10 years in London, my heart has been bonded to the city, the football community and i’m so grateful for crossing the paths of so many amazing people. i’ve grown, i’ve learned from so many gifted individuals, the friends i’ve made are uncanny let alone the memories that will forever burn inside my mind.

thank you for the endless support, the tears, smiles, laughter, cold days training in the snow, the 7am sessions, for training in sweltering heat with me to running out of daylight, sprinting away from skunks, for being open to learning something new and getting comfortable being uncomfortable. thank you for pushing me as a coach but also bettering me as a person. this city and the players from it will forever hold a special place in my heart 🫶

i was just two years into my coaching career when i crossed paths with olivia & raquelle, absolute bundles of energy with so much talent to uncover. in our first season together at @londontfc we went 18 games undefeated (they don’t keep score at that age-which is wild within itself, but i sure did and BOY was i proud). safe to say i was lucky to work with an incredible group of players at that time who pushed me as a coach daily.

fast forward to today, i was delighted to see their names pop up to work together again. we meet so people along our journeys in this lifetime, some that come and pass us by and some that leave a mark and re-enter. let me tell you- these two left a mark!! grateful to be reconnected with you both again thru the love of this beautiful game of football 🫶⚽️
